Introduction
2008 CBSSports.com Fantasy Golf Challenge
Welcome to the 2008 CBSSports.com Fantasy Golf Challenge! The 2008 CBSSports.com Fantasy Golf Challenge (the "Contest") lets you pick a team of your favorite golfers and compete for great prizes. How do you win? By fielding the highest-scoring team each week or having the highest scoring team at the end of one of our four Contest segments. You earn points based on the money your team of golfers earn in a given tournament, as defined in the "Point Values" section below. Each week you'll have $1,000,000 in fantasy money to spend on your team of five golfers. Each golfer will be assigned a salary and the combined salaries of the golfers you pick cannot exceed $1,000,000. Salaries will be based on the World Golf Rankings. You can choose a new line up each week, if you don't your team will carry over from week to week, but you must pick a team the first week of each segment, as defined in the "Selecting Your Team" section below.
No Cost
The 2008 CBSSports.com Fantasy Golf Challenge is FREE to play. No purchase or entry fee necessary to enter or win.

Participants will be asked to go to the URL: http://golf.sportsline.com/splash/golf/spln/challenge/free and follow the onscreen instructions (the "Onscreen Instructions") in order to enter. Onscreen Instructions incorporated by reference in these Official Rules.
Selecting Your Team
Each week throughout the Contest, you may choose a team of 5 golfers. You will have $1,000,000 to spend assembling your team. The pool of golfers may change week to week, as may the golfers' salaries, depending on the most recent World Golf Rankings. Once you have selected your team, your roster will then carry over from week to week if you don't set a lineup, even if it puts you over the salary cap. However, once you've made any changes to your lineup, you will then be bound by the salary cap.
Note: Player lists and salary information are updated by approximately 7:00 PM ET on Mondays, and then locked until the following Monday. Therefore, the list will not change if certain players are added to a tournament playing field, or scratched from it after 7:00 PM ET on the Monday before a tournament.
Team Selecting Deadline
A tournament period consists of one or more tournaments each week (see the "Scheduled Tournaments" section below.) Most tournament periods run for four days, usually Thursday through Sunday (some tournaments begin on Wednesday, so check the Scheduled Tournaments each week.) The deadline for picking your team each week is 6:00 AM ET the day of the first tournament that week. If an overseas tournament begins prior to 6:00 AM ET, then the deadline is 1 hour prior to the beginning of the tournament. If you fail to select a team for the first tournament of each segment, you will be awarded zero points toward your overall total score for each week you do not set an initial lineup. Although it isn't necessary to participate each week, it is strongly encouraged since missing a week will reduce your chances of winning segment and overall prizes.
